Magdalena Maria Del Carmen Rodriguez Morales, 82, of Byron, died Nov. 20, 2006 at Laramie Care Center in Laramie. Magdalena Maria Del Carmen Rodriguez Morales was born Aug. 16, 1924 in Ricon De Tamayo, Guanajuato, Mexico. She married David Morales Sr. on May 5, 1954 in Celaya Guanajuato, Mexico and the immigrated to the United States in 1954.While residing in Powell and Byron, they worked for farm families in the Willwood area. Carmen was a homemaker, raising seven children while also enjoying tending to her flowers, crocheting, knitting and embroidering, as well as visits from her many grandchildren. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lovell.
Survivors include her husband, David Morales Sr.; four daughters, Socorra Morales (Dr. Ken Dammond) of Maryville, Wash., grandson Steve Lopp of Denver; Clem Gallegos,(Manuel) and grandchildren, Marcus, Dean and Angel Marie; Lilly Plasencio (Benny) and grandson Christopher; Mary Nottage (Joe) and granddaughters Carmen, Heather and Kendra, all of Laramie; three sons, Angel Morales (Jonelle) and grandchildren Ethan and Carol of Rochester, Minn.; David Morales Jr. and granddaughters Kelsey and Kayla; Rick Morales (Dr. Terry Berwick) all of Denver; four great-grandchildren; Allison, Kelli and Christopher Lopp of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Donaven Gallegos of Laramie; two brothers, Ricardo and Jesus Rodriguez; five sisters, Gregoria Kilo, Maria Martines, Raquel Lopes, Estela Sotelo and Guadalupe Pineda ,all of Guanajuato, Mexico. A prayer vigil was held Friday, Nov. 24 at St. Laurence O’Toole Catholic Church. The funeral service was held Saturday Nov. 25 at St.Laurence O’Toole Catholic Church in Laramie with Father Frederico Calluati officiating. Pallbearers were Steven Lopp, Mark Gallegos, Dean Gallegos, Joe Nottage, Terry Berwick, Chris Plasencio and Ethan Morales. Burial was at Green Hill Cemetery in Laramie.
