Betty Gene McNiven

Betty Gene McNiven died Dec. 22, 2006 in Tarboro, N.C., where she lived for the last two years. She was the ninth child in a family of 12 children born to Virgil Edward and Harriet Rebecca Owen Morrow.

Betty Gene Morrow was born May 17, 1924 in McPherson, Kan. She married James Scott McNiven on March 10, 1945 in Bakersfield, Calif. She was the mother of Betty Jean, Virginia Lee, James Scott Jr. and Phyllis Marie. She was preceded in death by her husband James McNiven, her parents, 10 brothers and sisters, two daughters and a son.

She is survived by Betty Jean Yorgason, five grandchildren; James Yorgason, Lee A. Yorgason, Susan Michell Yorgason, Shayla McNiven and Karissa McNiven and also two great-grandchildren, Noelle and Nicholas Yorgason.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29 in the Burlington LDS Chapel with burial to follow in the Burlington Cemetery.
